How the story of ‘The Cat in the Hat’ sounds a lot like what we do in Emergency Management

Born on March 2nd in 1904, Theodore Seuss Geisel — known to the world as Dr. Seuss — wrote and illustrated more than 60 books for children. One of his best known works is The Cat in the Hat. When we see that book now (having read it to our children and even grandchildren), it reminds us of the job description for an Emergency Manager:

“Have no fear!” said the cat.

“I will not let you fall.

I will hold you up high
